WHO ARE MUMS FOR?
Traditional Mums - Mums are traditionally purchased for female students by their HoCo date, parents, or friend. A traditional Mum is up to 32” long, with a big white flower, and lots of ribbons and trinkets. They are worn pinned to the shoulder or a backpack. The centerpiece changes each year.
Double & Supersized Mums - Same as the above, just more of it! A Double has two (2) regular size flowers, a Supersize has one (1) large flower. Both have more trinkets and more ribbon, with the Supersize Mums being the largest custom designed mum for the recipient including lights! These also include lanyards.
Armbands - Traditionally purchased for male students by their HoCo date, parents, or friend. This has also become a popular choice for female students wanting a smaller Mum option. Armbands include recipient and date's names as well as one activity ribbon. (If we cannot accommodate the chosen activity, we will add a WHS or Chaps ribbon)
WHO BUYS MUMS?
Anyone can buy a Mum; boys will buy a Mum for a girlfriend or for a homecoming dance date; friends can buy each other Mums, and parents buy them for daughters (Armbands for sons).
CAN I ADD A DATE NAME AFTER I HAVE SUBMITTED MY ORDER?
Absolutely! Just email us the full name of the recipient and the full name of the date that you need to add.
HELP! MY DATE CHANGED??
Email us! Don't order a second and third mum/armband. We can easily change out names or remove names.
***TIPS FOR FILLING OUT THE FORM***
Recipient Name (First/Last): Please let us know the first AND last name of the person who will WEAR or RECIEVE the mum
Date’s Name (First/Last): Please let us know the first AND last name of the person who is the Date to HOCO of the person wearing the mum
Student Picking Up: Please list the first and last name of the student(s) authorized to pick-up the order. We will only distribute to the student(s) listed. Due to security reasons, parents are not able to come to the Mum Room for pick-up.
WHEN DO YOU ORDER A MUM?
Mums will be on sale from September 1st through Noon, October 17th (October 10th for Double/Supersize orders), or until inventory is sold out. If you are seeing an item sold out, please email mums@whspto.net to see if your order can be accommodated.
HOW DO YOU ORDER A MUM?
Order directly from the WHS PTO website and pay by credit card.
WHERE AND WHEN DO YOU PICK UP THE MUM?
An email will be sent to the email account that originated the order when the Mum/Armband is ready for pick-up. Beginning in October students can then pick-up in Room 341 at designated times/dates listed in the email.
Mums/armbands are filed under the RECEIVER/WEARER'S last name, therefore should be asked for as such, i.e.:
"I'm here to pick-up the Freshman Mum for Susie Smith"
"I'm here to pick-up the Senior Armband for Johnny Jones"
Orders will only be given to the student(s) listed for pick-up on the order form.
WHY DO THE MUMS LOOK A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER?
Mums are personalized to reflect the wearer; their name is put on one of the ribbons and other ribbons and trinkets are added that are personal to that person’s activities and grade level. Before you place your order, know the recipient's school activities.
WHEN DO I GIVE MY DATE THEIR MUM?
This is a personal decision/preference. Student's should coordinate with their dates ahead of time as to when they will exchange their Mum and Armbands.
WHEN DO YOU WEAR THE MUM?
Everyone wears their Mum to school on the day of the homecoming game on Friday, October 24th. Some wear them to the game, some do not.
WHY SHOULD YOU ORDER A MUM FROM THE “MUM MOMS”?
The Mum Moms are a volunteer committee of the WHS PTO, and all of the profits from our Mum sales go straight back into the PTO and WHS. Our prices are much better than other sellers and cheaper than you can make on your own!
